waiting for gaia
Description
1996, cast bronze, 18kg (without base), edition 5 of 6. See "Goddesses, Gods, Sea and Earth" exhibition article by Deryn Hardie Boys.
The original sculpture, called "Kore", is made from grey Carrara marble from Italy. I called it that because it has the feeling, to me, of a female Greek girl goddess. The bronze cast from the marble looks quite different, but still with a goddess feeling. Gaia is very important to the traditions of female philosophy and one day I want to make a sculpture of Gaia. I feel this one is on track, but I am still waiting for the final idea to be created.
