Description
Signals of Aotearoa. "Bandaging space" is a way of working where I take a strip of clay and wrap a thought or feeling, (as if to protect it) and gradually the form unfolds.
This intuitive way of working, of accessing the subconscious within the working process allows both the feeling and the material to become one. This work, Signals of Aotearoa, is about the passion I have for this land, its particular energy and how it has shaped the people who live in it - of its primeval beauty, its vulnerability and how it exists within the vast waters of the Pacific Ocean.
